A new SUV will be unveiled on April 29 by Mahindra & Mahindra, setting up the company for its much awaited year-opening. The carmaker released an engrossing video on its social media channels to give fans a preview of the SUV, known as the XUV3X0. It looks that the popular XUV300 is back with a facelift in this new offering.

Mahindra has been causing quite a stir before the formal introduction by testing the facelifted XUV300 and the much anticipated Five-door Thar SUV on Indian roads for a while now. The XUV3X0 is positioned to compete with sub-compact SUVs such as the Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Verna, and Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor. It is anticipated to make a significant impact in the market.

The XUV3X0’s modernized looks, including a reworked grille, upgraded LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), and front headlights, are teased in the teaser video. The SUV will have integrated taillights on the back for a contemporary look. Mahindra also teases opulent features like a sunroof, a premium sound system, and ventilated seats—a first for the car.

Several improvements, including a larger touchscreen infotainment system that may have been copied from Mahindra’s larger models, such as the Scorpio-N and XUV700, but scaled down for the XUV3X0, have been alluded to in spy pictures of the XUV300 facelift. Upgrades to the interior are also anticipated; new upholstery, an automated climate control system, and a wireless charger should all improve the ride.

As demonstrated in a recent video, Mahindra prioritizes the safety of its passengers. The XUV3X0 is expected to be equipped with a full suite of safety features, including disc brakes on all wheels, parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat mounts, ABS with EBD, ESP with Hill-Hold Assist, and three-point seatbelts as standard on all trim levels. Expectations are high for this vehicle.

It is unlikely that the XUV3X0’s engine and transmission options will alter significantly from its predecessor. For improved driving convenience, customers can choose from two turbocharged gasoline engines and one diesel engine, mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed AMT transmission.

Mahindra XUV3X0: Release & Cost

The teaser confirms that the XUV300 facelift, as previously reported, will debut this month in April 2024. And what about the cost? The XUV300 now has an on-road price range of Rs 9.39 lakh to Rs 17.79 lakh in Mumbai. Depending on the variation, we can anticipate a raise of Rs 50k to 60k with the facelift.

There hasn’t been much inside tease revealed. The leather seats, which appear to be treated in black and white, are visible. Additionally, perforations in the seats attest to the ventilated seats function. Aside from that, the teaser also shows off the new touchscreen, which is 10.25 inches and looks a lot like the current XUV400.

Regarding the outside, the full rear profile of the next Mahindra XUV300 is seen. The SUV has C-shaped LED tail lamps with linked treatment, as seen in the spy photos. To give the SUV a more modern appearance, the boot lid is slightly modified and features the XUV 3X0 emblem in the middle. The SUV appears broad overall, and the new bumpers are visible at the bottom.

The updated headlamp configuration that was visible in the spy photos is visible up front. It appears from the teaser that it has LED projector lights in addition to LED DRLs that resemble those on the XUV700. Even the front grille, which shares components with the XUV400, is visible. So, is this the standard version or an EV? The vertical slats on the front grille of Mahindra SUVs fueled by petrol or diesel are still a mystery. At last, the new alloy wheels that the XUV300 will receive have been unveiled.
